C'est par la transmission orale que les sept chanteurs, instrumentistes et danseuse qui forment l'ensemble Egschiglen ont pu ressusciter les chants de leurs ancêtres éloignés ou plus proches. Les instruments de l'ensemble d'Oulan Baator, sont singuliers: des violons surmontés d'une tête de cheval, contrebasse, des luths et même un « hackbrett » (cymbalon), aux sonorités fascinantes. Puis le chant vocal utilisant une technique particulière tout à fait particulière, que l'on appelle chant bitonal, qui consiste en la production simultanée de deux sons, l'un ourlant l'autre. Enfin, les danses, qui renforcent les pouvoirs expressifs de la musique. Une musique qui évoque les steppes d'Asie centrale et le galop des chevaux. Egschiglen
